JEE Main, Joint Entrance Exam (Main) is a national exam conducted for undergraduates to get admission in engineering colleges across India. It is conducted by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education).

What's new in JEE Main 2017?

  • No inclusion of XII Marks in All India Ranks
  • Top 2,00,000 candidates will be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced (Previously it was 1,50,000)
After clearing JEE Main 2017 you can do:
  • Appear for JEE Advanced (Only if you were in top 2,00,000)
  • Bachelor's Engineering

Eligibility Criteria

  • Qualifying Exam:
    • A candidate who wishes to appear in JEE Main 2017 must have passed Class XII (12th) or its equivalent exam in year: 2015 or 2016
    • A candidate appearing for the qualifying exam this year can also appear for JEE Main 2017.
  • Minimum Age:
    • For General / OBC Candidate: Born on or after 1st October, 1992.
    • For Reserved Category Candidate: Born on or after 1st October, 1987. (5 year extention)
  • Subjects count:
    • In the qualifying exam, candidate must have passed it with at least 5 subjects, otherwise candidate will not be considered eligible for JEE Main 2017.
  • Maximum Attempts allowed:
    • You can appear for a total of three times in JEE Main exam (provided that you remain eligible)
